The iTunes 54 error refers to a general input/output error. This means that iTunes has trouble reading or writing to a file or folder on your hard drive.

There are several reasons for this, such as a corrupted file, locked or inaccessible files or folders, or if a .m4a file cannot be converted at a lower bitrate. This last case would be rare unless you have recently ripped (converted) a number of files and tried to import them into iTunes. • On a Windows PC, go to iTunes > Edit > Preferences.

Check the box next to “Organize iTunes Media Folders” if you wish, and all media content is sorted by disc number, title, track number and other related information.
• To change the location of the file medium, click Edit and select the desired location. However, if you change the location of the media file, your files will not move unless you consolidate them. To do this, go to File> Library> Consolidate Files>Click OK.
• To reset the media file location to the default, click Reset on the right side of the box.

Checking the administrator’s permission access

Often, a program does not work under Windows 7, 8 and 10 because it requires administrator access; thus, iTunes may not be able to update a file or folder because it does not have permission to modify the files on the hard disk. Running iTunes with administrator access can solve this problem. Allow computers in iTunes

The Windows 12175 system error is also known as “ERROR_INTERNET_DECODING_FAILED” or “ERROR_WINHTTP_SECURE_FAILURE”. And sometimes it is also called “Cannot send HTTP request”.

Although it is likely that you already have the latest driver, if you have problems with a device, you can try to fix it by updating or reinstalling the driver. Here’s how:

1. Select the Start button, enter Device Manager and select it from the results list.
2. Expand one of the categories to find the name of your device, then right-click (or hold down) and select Update Driver. For graphics cards, expand the Display Adapter category, right-click your graphics card and select Update Drivers.
3. Select Automatically check if the driver has been updated.
4. If Windows does not find a new driver, you can search for one on the device manufacturer’s website and follow their instructions.

Restore your PC

When you try to install a Microsoft Windows Installer package, you may receive the following error message: Error 1603: A serious error occurred during installation.

By clicking OK in the message box, the installation is reset.

• Windows Installer attempts to install an application already installed on your PC.

Change installation location

A 1603 Windows error may occur because the installation location you have chosen is not available for various reasons, such as encryption. You can use another installation folder to install the program and see if the error has disappeared.

Empty all temporary files

Machine specific temporary folders can be defined by accessing the DOS prompt and input. Note the values for TEMP and TMP and delete all files at these locations.

Uninstall the same installed program completely.

If you have already installed the same program (or a previous version), the error may occur when you try to reinstall the application. If you want to install your program successfully, you must cleanly uninstall the installed program on your computer. This means that you must delete all temporary files and settings it leaves in addition to the main program.

Sometimes you can lose the desktop shortcut of a program for some reason and forget that you installed it. In this case, you can check in the Control Panel to see if it is still on your computer:

1. Press Win + R and enter “control”;
2. Search and open programs and functions ;
3. You can then check if the application is listed here. If so, uninstall it.

Uninstalling and re-registering the Windows Installer installer

1. Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, then click OK. Even if you do this correctly, it may seem that nothing will happen.
2. Click Start, click Run, type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, then click OK. Even if you do it well, it may seem that nothing is going to happen, or you can see an hourglass. After executing this command, the process is completed.
3. Try your Windows Installer application again.
